Context & Problem
Pakistan’s music scene has no editorial home aimed at the Gen Z audience actually driving it.
The music already has its audience. It just doesn’t have a magazine.
Role & Constraints
Solo editorial designer over four months: concept, grid, typography, cover and every spread. Constraint: a conceptual issue with AI-generated body text and third-party ads, so the work is framing and visual hierarchy.
Outcome & Impact
A complete debut issue, “Echoes of a Nation”, published as an interactive flip-book.

Overview

MicDrop is a conceptual editorial design project that captures the evolving music industry through bold layouts and immersive visuals. Balancing dynamic typography and high-energy photography with clean grid-based structures, the magazine highlights both artists and behind-the-scenes voices. AI-generated text was incorporated experimentally, allowing me to focus on framing and visual hierarchy.
